Marching shoulder-to-shoulder
with Filipino women and
their families towards
sustainable development

Since its establishment in 1976, first as a women's movement, Balikatan sa Kaunlaran (BSK) National Foundation, Inc. has responded to the call of the times and prevailing collective needs, particularly in advocating for integral human development and social justice especially for the vulnerable in Philippine society towards the empowerment of Filipino families.

WHAT'S NEW AT BSK NATIONAL FOUNDATION

EMPOWERING THE FILIPINO FAMILY TODAY IS ABOUT

building capacity
sharing resources
kindling innovation

Since our establishment, Balikatan sa Kaunlaran has consistently pushed for three key pillars in our mission to empower Filipino women and families: first is entrepreneurship, second is culture, and third is creativity. In today’s fast changing world, Balikatan strives to make opportunities for development inclusive through these three pillars, anchored on a fundamental commitment to inter-generational resource sharing and preservation

We need you, however, to continue supporting our work so we can reach more families and collaborate with them in a collective effort for social transformation.

Agora Online Marketplace

Inspired by then BSK Chair Emeritus Guia Gomez’s transformation of the San Juan City Public Market called Agora into a modern facility, BSK is launching an online marketplace for the products of its partner communities and organizations towards capturing opportunities in the digital new normal.

Adopt a Vegetable Garden

Moved by the Filipino spirit of bayanihan that demonstrated by  community pantries at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, BSK is supporting local community vegetable gardens to sustain, scale, and market vegetable production with the goal of securing food sufficiency and promoting nutrition.
